What can I say.. this is utterly cool.. Robots and AI is something that fascinated me a lot since I was a kid. The whole idea with computers was from day one the idea to make a machine do the job instead of me. In the beginning I was not so impressed of what saw of the AI development, but just as you could expect, it has a exponential kind of improvement once it reaches a certain point… and now I can feel that that point is very near. It’s both exciting and a bit frightening to think of possible consequences of this in a few decades to come. OpenAI I think is a really great idea of the one and only Elon Musk. Once AI “takes over” it’s important that it is available to “all” and not a few select.

All cozy and creative home projects week end
Planned to go see some friends but the sudden icy road conditions made me stay home for safety reasons..
Turned out kind of cozy any how.. I actually always loved being on my own fixing and creating stuff.. learning something new or and inventing something. This week end I ended up installing my first linux server on an old (and big..) PC that stood in the corner for many years. That was fun. The actual reason for this project was that I was thinking of setting up my own web hosting for my web site customers.. but before I invest a lot of money in server power I figured it was good to learn a little bit first about how to use them..
Playing some more piano.. always fun, always a meditative and spiritually rewarding experience.
The more I hang out in this old house the more I love this kind of life (yes I have been here back and forth over the last few years, and actually about 30 years in total if I count allt the summers spent here growing up). It’s a really nice place.. But nevertheless it almost surprises me how much I love living in the peaceful countryside. Spending the days working with the computer stuff, playing music and everything in between.. I said for a long time that I would like to buy my own house, but now for the first time I guess I can really say that it is something that I really want. So let’s see what the future holds.. Stay tuned..

Feeling creative
My first tip on how to get in the creative state? Leave the city life and escape into the calm tranquility of country life. Also my PC now thinks that it is a little bit of a Mac… so I hope this means that I will be able to start using it for coding on the iOS app that is being developed in one of my projects ^^

Voìla my current home at V Residence Serviced apartments.
This place is just outside Pattaya (about 20 min walk to city).
The price equals about 318 USD and lectricity and water charges are added at the end of the month.
I appreciate staying in a calmer location and not in the middle of the center city. This has been quite a good accomodation I would say.
Still about a week to go of this “30 day rent period”, which I will use to get some more work done and also to enjoy the Thai new year and Songkran that are just beginning these days.
A similar room for only 6500 ฿/month!?
I talked to the lady in the reception the other night and she gave me a tip of the apartment building right next to this one. According to her there are apartments there for 6 500 ฿/month (only 189 USD!). And those apartments allegedly also include a little bit bigger balcony and better space for cooking too 🙂 But I don’t think that there’s any swimming pool included.. If I ever want to stay around here again it might be worth checking out though!
My thoughts to Sweden
Today for the first time in a while I decided to stop working a little bit earlier to go for a ride, take a look around, and have dinner and relax a bit in a getaway place. It was very nice and well needed and a nice break.
But later in the evening of course the news reached me of the horrible attack in Stockholm :(( Now even in the Thai news they are talking about this comparing it to attacks in London etc. It feels so surreal and one of course cannot help but feeling really sad.

Email conversation with Air China
So I won’t even need a visa for my lunch in Beijing since I am there for less than 24 hours! Who would have guessed..?! I didn’t read this anywhere on the Internet so it really came as a really nice surprise! Good thing I emailed the airline service. Now the whole thing feels a lot more realistic than it did just a day ago.
